Biography:
She obtained the Computer Engineering degree from the Universidad del País Vasco in 1991 and joined the Instituto de Investigación Tecnológica (IIT). She received her Doctoral degree in 2003, and she is now an Associate Researcher in the IIT and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science of Comillas' Engineering School, ICAI. Her research interests include software engineering, analysis, design, management, and control of railway systems; RAMS analysis and software quality assurance; industrial communication and sustainability assessment of energy generation using LCA. To promote STEM vocations (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), she investigates the factors that cause the low choice of STEM studies by students, with particular emphasis on women; and the actions to be carried out to change this trend. She is director of the Chair for the Promotion of Women in STEM in Vocational Training for Sustainable Mobility.
Areas of interest:
Software engineering: software development process, programming paradigms, software quality assurance and control, CASE tools. RAMS: standards and analysis. Safety-critical and real time systems. Railway systems. Sustainability assessment of energy generation using LCA. Promotion of STEM vocations in women and provoke a change in trend.
