Biography:
Timo Gerres was born in Hamm (DE) in 1989. After obtaining his B.Sc. in Business Administration and Engineering at the Universität Paderborn (DE) in 2011, he gained first insights into the energy sector while working as a business analyst for the EuroDev Group (NL). He received his M.Sc. in Systems Engineering, Policy Analysis and Management from the Technische Universiteit Delft (NL) in 2014. For his thesis project, he assessed the value of adjustable load scheduling to mitigate production uncertainties of renewables on the day-ahead market. - After working for 2.5 years as a project manager for the transmission system operator TenneT in Germany, he joined the Instituto de Investigación Tecnológica of Universidad Pontificia Comillas as a Research Assistant, where he works in various projects related to the integration of renewable resources in the electricity sector, the impact of industrial decarbonisation on the energy system and industrial policy design.
