Biography:

Dr. Jesús R. Jiménez-Octavio earned his MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Pontificia Comillas in 2004 and his PhD from the same institution in 2009. His doctoral dissertation, Dynamic Analysis and Optimization of Catenaries for High-Speed Trains, was awarded the X Talgo Award for Technological Innovation and the Honorary Distinction for the Best Engineering Doctoral Thesis at Universidad Pontificia Comillas in 2010. He is currently Dean of the School of Engineering (ICAI) and Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Universidad Pontificia Comillas. He also conducts research at the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT). His research focuses on Computational Mechanics, with applications in structural engineering and, more recently, biomechanics. His scientific contributions include publications in international journals, presentations at international conferences, and participation in competitive and industry-funded research projects. He has been awarded three consecutive six-year research assessment periods by the Spanish National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI). His current bibliometric indicators include an h-index of 13 and an i10-index of 13. He recently served as Guest Editor of the Special Issue Biomechanics and Ergonomics in Prevention of Injuries in Applied Sciences.
