He graduated in Physics in 1991 from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. In 1997 received the Ph.D. degree in engineering from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid, UPCO. From 1991 to 1995 was a postgraduated student at the Instituto de Investigación Tecnológica (UPCO), and from 1996 is research staff in this centre and lecturer in the Mechanics Department of ICAI (UPCO). His research interests include: systems modelling, analysis and simulation; simulation techniques for optimisation and control problems; design, management and control of railway systems.
