Biography:
Álvaro López is a researcher at the IIT and a professor at ICAI, where he teaches dynamic systems, automatic control, electronics, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on reinforcement learning.
He is the principal investigator of the Smart Industry Chair, where he leads applied research on the use of digital technologies—generative AI, computer vision, LLM-based agents, synthetic data generation, and training environments for artificial agents—to improve industrial processes across various sectors.
He also directs executive programs on generative artificial intelligence for professionals at Comillas Onexed.
His work was recognized with an Honorable Mention by the Industry 4.0 Observatory in 2021.
