Options for energy management in spanish homes as a tool against energy poverty

Millions of people are currently affected by energy poverty in Spain. In this context, this research work will analyze the feasibility of a variety of of both conventional and innovative systems (such as microcogeneration or small-scale cogeneration) for domestic heating supply. The starting point will be to assess the heating demand by geographic areas, to propose the most effective systems, including alternatives to fund the investment. Additionally, this information will be presented in a user-friendly website in order to be effectively used by anyone interested on it. This work is part of the research areas of the Chair on Energy and Poverty. The candidate will work in projects and other activities of this Chair.

Requirements: Candidates must hold a Master degree in areas connected with mechanic and energy engineering. They should be willing to compromise in the quest for solutions to energy poverty.

Full-time position with a shared commitment among the doctoral thesis and research projects.
