P. Linares

May 2025 - April 2027

Funding entity Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades

Participated by Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas, Instituto IMDEA Energía, Basque Centre for Climate Change, Universidad de Valladolid, Universidad Pública de Navarra, Universidad de Zaragoza, Tecnalia Research & Innovation

The network's objective is to coordinate national research groups working on energy modeling from different perspectives and methodological approaches.

- To leverage existing synergies and complementarities among the various groups that would comprise the network.

- To align the research priorities of the different groups so that they adapt to and address the country's strategic challenges in the energy transition.

- To establish a national reference group in energy modeling that can support policymakers and stakeholders involved in decision-making.

- To foster capacity building in energy modeling in Spain through training activities jointly organized by the network, through co-supervision of doctoral theses, and through short research stays for doctoral and master's students at network centers.

- To strengthen the international presence of national research groups through participation in supranational networks and initiatives.

- To participate jointly in national and international R&D&I projects. - To communicate to society the results of the network's lines of research, such as the impacts of the energy transition and decarbonization alternatives.
