La IA es objeto de estudio de varias ramas de la filosofía: la primera y fundamental es la filosofía de la mente pues la IA tiene pretensión de emularla; esto obliga a saber si eso será posible y además con qué presupuestos lo hace. La segunda la epistemología o teoría del conocimiento, y la filosofía de la ciencia puesto que la IA tiene, en gran parte de sus aplicaciones, el objetivo de la IA es la obtención de conocimiento a partir de datos. La tercera es filosofía de la tecnología, que estudia las transformaciones que esta genera en vida humana -que debemos entender a través de la antropología- y en la sociedad. Finalmente, por supuesto, tenemos la ética. El abordaje que aquí se hace de la cuestión es el fundamento de todo el trabajo que sigue a este capítulo. Aquí se determinan los conceptos éticos que se aplican en los otros dos bloques del libro.
English summary:
Chapter 2 explores the philosophical foundations of AI and its methodological requirements. AI is the subject of study in several branches of philosophy: the first and most fundamental is the philosophy of mind, since AI aims to emulate it; this raises the question of whether that will be possible and, furthermore, on what assumptions it is based. The second is epistemology, or the theory of knowledge, and the philosophy of science, since in many of its applications, the goal of AI is to derive knowledge from data. The third is the philosophy of technology, which studies the transformations it brings about in human life—which we must understand through anthropology—and in society. Finally, of course, there is ethics. The approach taken here to this issue forms the foundation for all the work that follows this chapter. Here, the ethical concepts applied in the other two sections of the book are established.
