The report contains an analysis the failure of the step-up transformer of the combined cycle cogeneration plant of Repsol Petróleo in La Coruña. The report has been defended at the Civil and Mercatile Arbitrage Court in Madrid. This transformer was supplied by Técnicas Reunidas as a part of the overall project of the combined cycle cogeneration plant. The characteristics of the transformer were 220kV/11kV/11kV and 80MVA/57MVA/23MVA. The failure was due to a short circuit at the 11kV busbar of the 23MVA winding.
