The objective of the TOOLTRAIN project is the research and development of new software tools for the design of high capacity railway lines, equipped with the latest signalling systems: CBTC and ERTMS level 2.
This way, the transport capacity is increased and trains can be operated safely with a shorter interval between consecutive trains providing flexibility to railway traffic control. Therefore, safety, reliability punctuality and frequency can be improved.
