Escalators and moving walks are an indispensable part of a mobile society. They are included in department stores, train stations, modern soccer arenas, luxury casinos, office complexes or airports.
Escalators and moving walks inspections carried out by ThyssenKrupp Elevator S.A. requires a different checking activity list depending on several factors such as Model type, inclination percentage and number of technicians.
This project has required the design of specific task forms to cope with the timing of different inspection activities depending on the type of installations. Finally this project has provided a multivariable model to estimate the inspection time based on more relevant characteristics of the inspected installation. An ANOVA study has been carried out to analyze the importance of each installation characteristic.
