Models of excitation and speed-governing systems for power system stability studies: Parameter estimation.

The aim of this project has been the development of a comprehensive methodology for the identification of the models of excitation and speed-governing systems of hydraulic units used in power system stability studies. This methodology integrates test procedures and parameter estimation algorithms.
The parameter estimation algorithms have been implemented in a computer program package called SIRE (System for Identification of REgulators). SIRE runs under Microsoft Windows.
The overall methodology has been validated in the identification of 15 excitation and speed-governing systems of hydro units of Iberdrola.
