The future operation of the ENAGAS network will be a difficult task due to several factors such as the increasing liberalization of the Spain´s natural gas market, the expected future demand or the limited capacity of the existing pipelines network. To manage its system, ENAGAS needs to plan correctly its external supplies in the long, medium and short term.
PATRONES NIVEL-1 is a forecasting tool designed to produce medium-term predictions of the total Spanish natural gas consumption. This tool takes into account, among others, the effect of relevant economic variables. Furthermore, it allows obtaining different predictions by varying the economic scenario and the future weather conditions.
