Design of low power, embedded real time systems

Current network analizers are focused on determined disturbations of the signal in a electric system and do not analyze the overall set of disturbations defined in the power quality studies. This has motivated the proposal of a coordinated project whose objectives are the design of a prototype able to fulfill the lacks of current instrumentation. The designed device will be an embedded real time system capable of identifying and classifying disturbances and reporting the results to an operator. There are two main objectives, the first is the design of a fast, reliable and efficient algorithm to evaluate the power quality and the second is its integration in an embedded real time system based on a microprocessor or on a FPGA.
