December 1998 - June 2001

Funding entity Comisión Europea (Programa SPRIT 28735)

Participated by Universitaet Karlsruhe, Union Electrica Fenosa, Kuka Rotober, Genrad, Systems & Advanced Technologies Engineering

The goal of this project is to provide an intelligent architecture for building and hosting large-scale, multi-agent-based monitoring and diagnosis systems for entire industrial plants which are extremely flexible, modular in structure, cost effective, and easy to maintain. It is based on the use of CORBA for agents communications. It will integrate several existing expert systems.
The DIAMOND project is an ESPRIT project (no. 28735) partly funded by the European Commission and at present is being developed by the following partners: Institute for Process Control and Robotics (Germany), KUKA Roboter GmbH (Germany), Unión Fenosa Generación (Spain), GenRad Ltd (United Kingdom), Systems and Advanced Technologies Engineering (Italy), and Universidad Pontificia Comillas Madrid- IIT (Spain).
