Economic Council of the French Electricity Regulatory Commission

I.J. Pérez-Arriaga

January 2001 - December 2002

Funding entity Comisión Reguladora de Electricidad de Francia (CRE)

The Economic Council of the French Electricity Regulatory Commission (CRE) consists of twelve experts, all of them University professors, -mostly in the area of applied economics-, from different countries. The purpose of the Council is to provide assessment to the staff of the CRE on specific topics. The topic for the first year has been an in-depth analysis of the theoretical principles of transmission network pricing and its practical implications in network tariff design. The outcome of this work has been collected in a report that will be published as a book. The topic that has been selected for the second year is congestion management in the transmission network, in particular in the context of international cross-border trade. The principal investigator of this project is a member of the Council.
