Physical Modeling of the CENER combined cycle power plant operating with and without afterburning

ENCE, the former Nacional Cellulose Enterprise, has a combined cycle power plant operational in Huelva. The combined cycle operates in principle in cogenerative mode, with and without post-combustion, exchanging steam at different pressure levels with the Cellulose factory from ENCE.
In this project we have developed several physical models of the whole combined heat and power (CHP) scheme, operating with and without afterburning. These models have been gauged with the recent measurments made on the plant for its Performance Tests-2002, in order to determine the actual state of the different components of the Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP).
Later on, the gauged models have been used to quantify the effects on CCPP performance of gas turbine upgrading.
The models have also been used to perform parametric simulations showing the effect on CCPP performance of gas side pressure loss in the Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), in order to evaluate the effect of some modifications to be introduced in the HRSG.
Finally the models have been used to characterize the operating conditions in the Technical Minimum.

The developed models are steady state and part load for most of the components.
