June 2001 - January 2002

Funding entity EUROSMC

This project will investigate the design of a switched-mod voltage and current amplifier to test power system protection units. The initial specifications will require a very low voltage and current output distortion (less than 0.01%) with an excellent transient response (less than a millisecond, settling time). If the project proves to be practical, the research team will proceed to the design of a short series of the device to be tested in the laboratory. This viability study requires the demonstration of a prototype.
