The aim of this project is to develop a computer tool to address the optimization of the solution of power system constraints and voltage control. This is a joint project between IIT and Indra SSI for Red Eléctrica de España (REE). The starting point of this project is a computer tool to analyze power system constraints, also developed by IIT and Indra SSI for REE. The optimization of the solution of power system constraints and voltage control involves two steps: (1) the solution of the power system constraints due to voltage problems connecting new generators and changing the generator voltages, the transformer taps and the shunt reactors and capacitors and (2) the optimization of the active power losses and the generator reactive power margins changing the generator voltages and the transformer taps.
