Biography:

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2011), a Master's degree from Columbia University (2013), and a Ph.D. in Economics from the European University Institute (2018).

Riccardo Ciacci is an applied microeconometrician. His research focuses on gender economics, crime, and development, using causal inference methodologies.

He has published in journals such as The Economic Journal, Review of Economics of the Household, Journal of Population Economics, and International Migration Review, among others. Furthermore, his work has been featured in outlets like The Washington Post, Marginal Revolution, and Nada es gratis.

In the fall of 2019, he joined Universidad Pontificia Comillas as a lecturer and researcher, where he teaches Microeconomics and Introduction to Economics. He has previously taught at Columbia University, Universidad Loyola Andalucía, and the Pontifical Gregorian University.

He currently serves as a Guest Editor for PLOS ONE and has peer-reviewed for several academic journals, including the Quarterly Journal of Economics, American Economic Journal (Economic Policy and Applied Economics), Journal of Human Resources, The Economic Journal, and Journal of Population Economics.
