Biography:
Karina works as a consultant of energy models at the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT) at Comillas Pontifical University. She holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Valencia and an MSc in Optics and Photonics (Solar Energy specialization) from the Erasmus Mundus Europhotonics programme, completed mainly at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany) and one semester at Aix-Marseille Université (France).
Her background combines physical modelling and data analysis applied to a variety of topics, including energy systems.
She has collaborated with institutions such as KIT, Fraunhofer IOSB, and the European Commission.
At IIT, she works on modelling and analysis of the energy market.
Areas of interest:
Modelling and planning of energy market mid and long term, energy forecasting, risk analysis, regulation.

• Blue Book Traineeship at the European Commission (2024). Data tools and renewable energy projects monitoring.
• Master's thesis at KIT (2023). MATLAB modelling of a novel hybrid renewable device and its techno-economic analysis. Awarded the Applied Photonics Award (Fraunhofer IOF)
