Jaime Román Úbeda was born in Malagón in 1961. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 1985, holds a PhD in 1991 and an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manchester (UMIST) in 1987. He also has taken several postgraduate programmes at the London Campus, University Of Chicago Boot School Of Business, in 2009, 2006 and 2004. Until 1997 he worked as a researcher at the Institute of Technological Research of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, where he developed more than twenty research and development projects in the power system related areas. These projects were developed for and with financed by companies and entities of the electricity sector in Spain, Europe and Latin America. He is the author or co-author of more than thirty technical articles on electrical energy systems. He is currently lecturer of Energy Power Economics at the Engineering School of Universidad Pontificia Comillas and contributes in Master Programmes of the Universidad Carlos III and London Business School. He is also finance manager for Electric GT Holdings Inc. promoter of the first International Electric GT Cars Championship. Since 1997 until 2015, he held several senior executive positions for Endesa/ENEL companies. Including Head of Middle Office and Risk Management, Iberia region, at ENDESA/ENEL, in Madrid and Vice President of Energy Management of Enel, in Rome.
