Biography:

Javier is a predoctoral researcher at the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT) at Comillas Pontifical University. His research focuses on the analysis and modelling of electricity markets, with particular emphasis on long-term electricity price forecasting and the development of methodologies for the optimal management of industrial demand under dynamic tariff schemes.

He holds a BSc in Industrial Technologies (2024), an MSc in Industrial Engineering (2026), and an MSc in the Electricity Sector (2026) from the School of Engineering (ICAI) at Comillas Pontifical University. Between September 2022 and June 2024, he completed a double-degree programme with École Centrale de Lyon, where he obtained a degree in General Engineering.

During the 2025–2026 academic year, he completed an internship at Iberdrola within the Operations and Short-Term Markets Department. During this period, he developed a methodology to combine short- and medium-term forecasting models for day-ahead electricity market prices, supporting the definition of the company’s portfolio optimisation strategy.
