Biography:

Irene Lorente was born in Cádiz and moved to Madrid at the age of 18 to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Mathematical Engineering at the Complutense University of Madrid. In her fourth year of study, she worked as a Data Scientist at Cepsa, an experience that strengthened her interest in data analysis and machine learning. After completing her undergraduate degree, she continued her academic journey with a Master's in Big Data at Universidad Pontificia Comillas, which she combined with a position as a Data Engineer at the software company Anook Consulting.

In March 2025, she joined the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT) as a research fellow, where she developed her Master's thesis on watermarking strategies for language models (LLMs). Since June, she has continued at the IIT as a predoctoral researcher, focusing on generative models for both text and images. Her research aims to enhance traceability, security, and intellectual property protection in AI systems by integrating advanced methods in machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
