Grace Akullo, born and raised in Uganda where she attained the Bachelors in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management at Makerere University and later the Masters degree in Management and Promotion of Local Development at the University of Valencia and the second Masters in Intercultural Communication and Public Service Translation and Interpretation (Spanish - English) at the University of Alcalá, Madrid. As of September 2020, she enrolled as a Research Assistant at Comillas Pontifical University. While in Uganda, she worked with key stakeholders that promote Women Entreprenuership Development (WED) in developing countries like the International Labor Organization(ILO), UKAid, IrishAid, Enterprise Uganda and the Federation of Uganda Employers. Her research areas of interest are of great importance to understanding the social and economic growth in sub-Saharan Africa whose populations are not only young but also largely rural like Uganda, whose population is more than 75% below the age of 30 (World Bank, 2019): entrepreneurship, women entrepreneurs, financial technologies, digital finance access and sustainable economic growth.
