Eliana Ormeño Mejía, completed her bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL), Guayaquil-Ecuador. She got a Master's Degree in Energy Engineering, specialization in Renewable Energy, at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a Diploma in Electricity Markets of the Future and its Regulation at Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile. She has worked as a lecturer in the Electrical Engineer Career of Universidad Técnica del Norte, Ibarra-Ecuador. She has also worked as a design engineer, construction, and supervising electrical projects. She currently works as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT). Her research focuses on developing quantitative assessment methods for the transition to net-zero emissions in industries in the raw materials sector, considering technological, economic, and regulatory implications.
