Biography:
Ema Jokūbaitytė obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Sciences from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania) in 2022, where her studies focused on biomedical and biomechanical engineering. After graduating, she joined Comillas Pontifical University to carry out an eight-month ERASMUS+ internship at the MOBIOS laboratory. During this period, she began developing skills in computational analysis and experimental testing methodologies in the field of vehicle safety and biomechanical engineering.
After completing the internship, Ema continued at MOBIOS as an invited researcher for the 2024/2025 academic year. She worked as a finite element (FE) systems modeller on a project funded by Autoliv Development, where she validated a human body model (HBM) in reclined seating postures of vehicle occupants, using experimental data produced in the MOBIOS laboratory as a reference. Autoliv Development also funded her further academic studies at Comillas - the Master’s in Motorsport, Mobility and Safety (M2S) - which she completed in the summer of 2025. In the same academic year (2024/2025), Ema also enrolled in another Master’s programme at Spain’s National University of Distance Education (UNED) - the Official Master in Research in Industrial Technologies, with a focus on mechanical engineering - which she completed at the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year.
Areas of interest:
Ema’s professional interests are broad and include experimental testing and related methodologies, injury biomechanics, and finite element (FE) modelling. She works on projects related to the safety of vehicle occupants and vulnerable road users, contributing to both experimental and virtual testing phases, as well as the analysis of their results in either scenario.
