Camila Fernandes obtained her degree in Economics (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) in December 2007, and the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Economics and Management of Network Industries (Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Madrid, Spain, and Université Paris-Sud, Orsay, France) in 2009. From September 2009 until November 2015 she worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT), where she has participated in several European projects related to the integration of renewable energy in the electricity sector. Her main tasks included the use of operation and network models to analyze the impact of renewable generation in power systems and electricity markets. She has extensive knowledge on the electricity market functioning and power system operation procedures. She has been a visiting researcher in Vienna University of Technology (Vienna, Austria) and in the Technical University of Denmark (Roskilde, Denmark). Currently, she is finishing her PhD at ICAI Engineering School (Universidad Pontificia Comillas). Her areas of interest include the integration of renewable generation in power system operation, electricity trading, and the regulatory aspects of the sector.
