Biography:

Dr. Carpenzano is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid and a member of the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT), Private Healthcare Team. He teaches and coordinates Accounting courses in the MBA programme and teaches Financial Statement Analysis at the undergraduate level.

He holds a PhD in Business Administration and Management from the University of Pisa (Italy), where he also completed his studies in Economics and Management, specialising in professional business consulting. During his doctoral studies, funded by a competitive research grant from the Tuscany Region (Pegaso Programme), he combined academic research with professional practice as an auditor and accounting advisor. His doctoral dissertation was defended in April 2023.

He previously held postdoctoral positions at the University of Pisa, where he taught Financial Reporting and Analysis in English, and completed research visits and teaching assignments at Universidad Pontificia Comillas prior to his appointment in July 2025. He is certified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Financial Auditor.

His research focuses on corporate performance evaluation, with particular attention to the hospital and healthcare sector, and on the adoption of new technologies and their impact on management and organisational models.
