Biography:

Carlos Cabrera Paz is an Industrial Engineer specializing in electrical systems. He completed the Master's in Industrial Engineering (MII) at ETSI-ICAI, Comillas Pontifical University, in June 2026, having previously earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC).

His Master's thesis addressed methodologies for calculating the K-factor for primary frequency regulation in the European synchronous system. Developed at the IIT, this work reflects the focus of his research: frequency regulation and the operation of electric power systems.

He is currently a predoctoral researcher at the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT), Comillas Pontifical University. His research centers on the design of services and mechanisms for frequency control and grid stability in a context of increasing renewable energy penetration.
