A pre-doctoral researcher position is available to carry out research projects focused on the development of tools for the regulatory analysis of electrical systems at Instituto de Investigación Tecnológica (IIT) de la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería ICAI (c/ Rey Francisco 4, 28008).
Desired start date: June 2026.
Tasks:
• Review of the state of the art in tools supporting regulatory design for the electricity sector.
• Development of advanced models in this field.
• Presentation of results.
• Publication of results in scientific journals.
Degree required: Master’s degree in Engineering.
Required skills: Experience in programming and data analysis.
Languages: English and Spanish.
Preferred qualifications:
Knowledge of the electricity sector, as well as programming experience with Matlab, Python, and GAMS. Ability to work in a team. Interest in and curiosity about research. Initiative and critical thinking skills.
• Full-time employment contract for one year, renewable for up to a maximum of six years depending on performance. The gross salary for the first year is €32.448,20 for 2026.
• Possibility of starting a Ph.D. program within two years.
