Influence of green hydrogen production on planning models for the operation and expansion of the electrical system

The production of green hydrogen is one of the factors that will significantly change the operation and expansion of the electricity sector. To see how it is affected, it is necessary to see the synergy between both sectors and to be able to analyze the decisions to develop hydrogen networks or electricity networks.


The candidate must have a master's degree in engineering, computer science, physics or mathematics. Knowledge of the electricity and hydrogen sector will be valued, as well as programming with Python/Pyomo. A complete command of the Spanish language and a high level of spoken and written English are also required, as well as a good academic record and facility for teamwork.

What do we offer?

Full-time annual contract to carry out research projects complemented by training activities. This modality allows the researcher in training to establish a very close professional relationship with the companies with which they collaborate, thus nourishing their research with the experience accumulated during the realization of the projects. Initially, this modality does not imply, however, that the trainee researcher is directly incorporated into a PhD program. Admission to a doctoral program can be applied for during the first two years. The trainee researcher is hired every year for a maximum period of six years. The contract of a trainee researcher who is not enrolled in a PhD program cannot exceed two years. The gross salary for the first year is €25,896 for the year 2023. In addition, the IIT covers 90% of the fees for training activities and you will have access to all the services offered by the University (Sports, Cultural Activities, Library , etc.).
