Hydrogen production scheduling model in electricity markets

Green hydrogen has a fundamental role in the transition of energy systems. It is produced by electrolysis from renewable generation. The selected person will be part of a team that collaborates with large companies in the energy sector in the development of short- and medium-term scheduling models for electrolyzers to facilitate the integration of hydrogen production in the electricity market.

Requirements:
Interest in applied research (optimization techniques and electricity market) and programming. Master's degree in industrial engineering with a specialty in electrical engineering or master's degree in applied mathematics or physics. Speak and write Spanish perfectly and have an advanced level of English, as well as a good academic record and facility for teamwork. Knowledge of Python will be appreciated.

We offer:
Full-time annual contract to carry out research projects complemented by training activities. This modality allows the pre-doctoral researcher to establish a very close professional relationship with the companies with which they collaborate, thus nourishing their research with the experience accumulated during the realization of the projects. Initially, this modality does not necessarily imply that the predoctoral researcher joins a PhD program directly. Admission to a doctoral program can be applied for during the first two years. The predoctoral researcher is hired every year for a maximum period of six years. The contract of a predoctoral researcher who is not enrolled in a PhD program cannot exceed two years. The gross salary for the first year is €25,020.62 for the year 2022. Additionally, the IIT covers 90% of the fees for training activities, and you will have access to all the services offered by the University (Sports, Cultural Activities, Library, etc.).
