Transforming society through discerning leadership. A methodological approach from the quantitative and qualitative perspectives

The selected person will join an IIT work team to participate in a three-year research project. The main objective of the project is to develop a comprehensive measurement methodology to monitor the impact and evolution of a disruptive leadership model: discerning leadership. This model of leadership is based on the well-known model of "Ignatian leadership" and overcomes previous models. It can be framed within the spiritual leadership models, yet, it goes one step further, since it introduces the ‘sixth wave’ of research on leadership, based on incorporating spiritual experience as an anthropological and organizational dimension in decision-making and implementation.

The measurement methodology must combine qualitative and quantitative information to construct composite/synthetic socio-economic indicators. For that purpose, the most appropriate quantitative techniques to construct composite indicators must be applied (normalization, weighting, aggregation, robustness analyses, etc.) within a data structure framework that defines the dimensions and categories of the discerning leadership to be measured. This research will be done in close collaboration with the Chair of Leadership and Internationalization of ICADE Business School, which holds the Training Course for Specialist in Discerning Leadership for Ecclesial Organizations (LiDE) as a first approach to implement this revolutionary leadership model.
