The candidate will join the development team of the optimization module of EXCOM and EXLA models developed by IIT under the supervision of Dr. Javier García-González . These tools are currently used by ENDESA's Energy Management (ENEL Group) to obtain the optimal schedule for all its generation resources in Spain, as well as the management of reservoirs in the medium term, considering the particularities of the Iberian Electricity Market. This project requires applying novel solutions to very complex problems, so the selected person will have to carry out research tasks. The expected duration of the project is 1 year with the possibility of extensions on issues related to the Energy Systems Models .

Requirements:

Interest in applied research (optimization techniques and power systems) and programming. Preferably a master's degree in electrical engineering. Native Spanish, advanced English level, and very good academic record. Experience in model development in GAMS and knowledge of Python will be valuable.

What do we offer?

Annual full-time contract for the development of research projects. In addition, training activities may be carried out. This modality allows the Research Assistant to establish a very close professional relationship with the companies with which he/she collaborates, thus nourishing his/her research with the experience accumulated during the projects.
