Funding entity ENAGAS
The future operation of the ENAGAS network will be a difficult task due to several factors such as the increasing liberalization of the Spain´s natural gas market, the expected future demand or the limited capacity of the existing pipelines network. To manage its system, ENAGAS needs to plan correctly its external supplies in the long, medium and short term.
MADE is a forecasting tool designed to produce medium-term predictions of daily natural gas consumption measured at different gas pipeline locations. This tool takes into account, among others, the effect of the calendar, the outdoor air temperature and relevant economic variables. Furthermore, it allows obtaining different predictions by varying the economic scenario and the future weather conditions.
