Biography:

Valeria Karina Moreno is a research assistant and doctoral candidate at the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT) at the Engineering School (ICAI) of the Comillas Pontifical University. She is an Industrial Engineer from the National Technical University (UTN) of Argentina. In 2018 she graduated with an M.Sc. Degree in Energy Engineering, with a specialization in Renewable Energy, taught by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). She wrote her master thesis at CITCEA UPC on the development of an integral model to improve energy access in remote rural communities in Bangladesh.

Experience:

She worked as an assistant professor at UTN, and a support researcher and coordinator of a research project. The objective of the project was to develop a comprehensive analysis of sustainable residential consumption, to develop a manual of good practices that encourages a low-carbon residential lifestyle. One of the main consumptions considered is the energy consumption of the home, and the measures to be proposed for its optimization. In addition to this activity, she participated as a volunteer in the Professional Association of Specialist Engineers of Córdoba (APIE), within which they have organized congresses, workshops, webinars and write a bimonthly newsletter to communicate, raise awareness and involve society in issues related mainly to energy. renewables and sustainable development. In addition, she had joined me in coordinating a government program in her province, Cordoba, aimed at training energy managers to implement renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in SMEs. As a result of this activity, she had been working with SMEs committed to reducing their consumption and their carbon footprint and carrying out sustainability strategies.
