Ha participado en un importante número de consultorías y proyectos de investigación relacionados con los sistemas de energía eléctrica en colaboración con distintas empresas y organismos españoles e internacionales.

Ha dirigido varias tesis doctorales y es autor de varias publicaciones relacionadas con la regulación, operación, planificación y economía de los sistemas de energía eléctrica y con el desarrollo de modelos y herramientas informáticas de simulación y optimización relacionados con estos campos.
