SINBAD: On line detection on unbalanced energy measurements in power network nodes.

This paper presents an intelligent system for the diagnosis and correction of energy measurements. The diagnostic system is based on the continuous monitoring of node energy balances (analytical redundancy) and the duplication of watthour meters (physical redundancy). Measurement correction is carried out according to calibration curves obtained through reference testing under different operating conditions. SINBAD has been working for more than one year in a Spanish Power Plant owned by the electrical utility ENDESA, with encouraging results. Some of these results are presented in this paper.
