The aim of this project is to investigate how the occupant position, active muscle forces, initial velocity or stress at the time of impact influence the occupant’s injury risk. This research will be carried out utilizing an Active Human Body Model (A-HBM) and running LS-DYNA simulations in pre-crash avoidance maneuvers followed by an in-crash phase that result in lateral crashes.
