Experimental designs to evaluate consumer’s preferences related to energy procurement and the adoption of low-CO2 technologies

Global warming is the biggest challenge of our time. To address this issue many initiatives in different domains will have a role in the process, being the development of behavioral informed energy policies a significant part of it. The objective of the work will be to proceed a review of different experiment designs (randomized controlled trials, natural experiments, online experiments with Amazon’s MTurk, etc) and their application to energy consumer’s behavior. It is also expected from the MSc candidate to propose one or more designs and apply it in an experiment to evaluate consumer’s preferences related to energy procurement and the adoption of low-CO2 technologies like electric vehicles, solar panels and heat pumps.
