Study on the coordination of power electronics devices in realistic scenarios

The targets covered by Milestone 4.1 are the following: - To summarize the coordination strategies in HVDC-VSC multi-terminal systems found in the literature and classify them according to their function. - To study the coordination and interoperability of the converters of an HVDC-VSC multi-terminal system with other power electronics devices in the transmission grid. - To study in detail control strategies for the active power injections of the converters in an HVDC-VSC multi-terminal systems for transient stability enhancement. - To study in detail control strategies for the reactive power injections of the converters in an HVDC-VSC multi-terminal systems for transient stability enhancement. - To study the tool PowerFactory (DigSilent) for small signal stability analysis of AC/DC systems, after it has been confirmed that PSS/E cannot deal with user-defined models for this purpose. The study has been carried out as part of the INNPACTO project ESP-LIDER, funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of the Spanish Government.
