Modelling and control of VSC-HVDC systems

This document presents a study on the modelling and control of HVDC-VSC systems. The study has been carried out as part of the INNPACTO project ESP-LIDER, funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of the Spanish Government. The targets of Milestone 2.1 are the following: - Modelling and simulation of HVDC-VSC systems. - Control methods of VSC-HVDC systems. - Development of simulation models of HVDC-VSC systems using the most widely used tool, such as PSCAD or MATLAB/SIMULINK. - Description of the most recent VSC converter technology: Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC). - Complete and reduced models of HVDC-VSC systems.
