The impact of system fault related requirements upon generator design and generator standards

The contribution discusses system faults that have impact of on the generatorís and power plantís response. System faults can affect synchronous generators in different ways: due to loss of synchronism and, power plant auxiliaries tripping or induced high electromechanical stresses. The contribution with analyze: fault ride through, rate-of-change, out-re-closing and maximum power output vs. frequency requirements.
