Robust damping controllers of power system oscillations.

This paper details an approach to design robust damping controllers of power system electromechanical oscillations. This approach is based on the sensitivities of the eigenvalues of the power system linearized model around several operating conditions. The feasibility of the proposed approach is checked in the case of a generator connected to an infinite bus through different network impedances and working with different power factors. The proposed technique is applied to the design of several damping controllers: power system stabilizers, stati var compensators, thyristor controllerd series capacitors and thyristor controlled phase angle regulators.
