Eigenvalue-based methods for analysis and control of power system oscillations

This paper reviews eigenvalue-based methods for analyss and control of power system oscillations. The characterization of power system oscillations using the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the state matrix is detailed. Design of power system damping controllers is addressed with the aid sensitivity measures. Special techniques to deal with large power system are also discussed.
