Funding entity Mercados Energéticos
The first tariff revision is going to take place in Panama in 2002. IIT together with Mercados Energéticos and SEP have won an auction organized by the national Panama regulatory commission (ERSP). The distribution remuneration is based on price cap models. The maximum allowed income for each distribution company has to be calculated, based on the model of a comparison with a similar real company. Afterwards, this maximum allowed income has to be allocated to different types of tariffs.
