Design of the electrical supply system of the Metrosur underground line

The regional government of Madrid is building a new underground line for Madrid´s underground network. Metrosur connects the main villages of the southern region of Madrid. The Metrosur line stands out from the other underground lines in Madrid by virtue of its length and power consumption. This has prompted a study to identify the most advantageous scheme to supply power to the line. The voltage level of the power supply (220 kV, 45 kV, 15 kV) and the number of supply points will be determined. Several criteria are taken into account in this project: voltage drop, power flow, reliability, investment and operational costs, etc.

• *Steady-state: load flows, analysis of power system constraints, optimal load flows, voltage control ancilliary service,short-circuits, protections in transmission and ditribution networks
