The underfrequency load shedding system is a critical system to maintain the stability of isolated power systems. If a generator tripping occurs the load shedding system trips the amount of load to maintain the system stability. The aim of this project is to design the most efficent underfrequency load shedding system for the power system of El Hierro island. The use of rate of change of frequency relays will be explored.
