This project focuses on enhancing the sustainability of child restraint systems (CRS) by extending their service life through the implementation of a structured technical inspection protocol. The proposed methodology includes a primary visual inspection to detect obvious signs of damage, complemented by secondary non-destructive testing methods such as X-ray or ultrasonic analysis to assess the internal structural integrity of the CRS. These inspections will be conducted using the facilities available at MOBIOS and/or ADAC in Germany if required. As a second stage, the project aims to develop a mobile application to establish a closer relationship with CRS users, reducing misuse by providing real-time technical support. The application will incorporate artificial intelligence-based image recognition to allow users to upload pictures of their installations. The system will provide immediate feedback on potential installation errors, both in how the CRS is secured and how the child is positioned within it, thereby improving safety outcomes
